Hello World!

My name is Josh, and for four years now, I have been a stay-at-home dad. I have also been a homeschool dad for that entire time. I am a Christian and run a small ministry, Romans 1:16 Ministries, in my spare time. We go door-to-door handing out copies of the New Testament, knocking on the door, and attempting to share our faith. I also own and operate a few other websites and blogs.

I have an incredible wife, Melissa, who is an NICU nurse. She takes care of babies who are born premature or with birth defects which will not allow them to immediately go home. Many of them would not make it without the care of the NICU. Some of them do not make it, even with all of the incredible care they receive. Melissa is also an incredibly talented baker, cake decorator, quilt maker, and an all around crafty girl. She makes me wish I had far more talents, but alas, I enjoy reading, playing with my family, and all things related to running this house.

My son turned 8 in October of 2010, and started third grade in January of 2011. He is a Wolf in Cub Scouts, and we are enjoying that adventure immensely. For now, he wishes to be a farmer when he grows up, but we will see what he wants to be a year from now!

My daughter, Megan, will be 6 in March of 2011 and is currently doing first grade work. She is in her second year of dance classes, in which she learns ballet, tap, and jazz. She is absolutely adorable in her dance costume, and we are loving watching her learn and grow. She wants to be a Barbie and own a Barbie Pet Shop and live in a Diamond Castle when she grows up, and she seems to have her mind made up on this account! Lord help us!

Through this blog I hope to share our lives with you. We attempt to go on many field trips around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and I intend to share those with my readers. I hope to share some interesting things that I learn while teaching my kids throughout the week. You can expect to read about birthday parties, amazing cakes and cookies, camping trips, fun new foods we try, good deals we get, and all sorts of fun things that go on in the life of one stay-at-home/homeschool dad! If there is something you would like to know, just ask…maybe I will blog about it!!

Enjoy!!!
